Chalk Farm Road sees the completion of an educational building situated on Camden High Street, to house new premises for the British Academy of Jewellery.

The project involved transforming a vacant, three-storey building near the iconic Grade II listed Roundhouse. The project included an upwards extension and a contemporary façade re-design, enhancing the building's presence in this prominent location and creating ample space for the required facilities, including jewellery making workshops, classrooms and an exhibition space.

The approach ensures that the massing continues the existing roof form, with a flat roof on the west side and an angled roof on the east side, emphasising a striking feature in the design.

To create the striking façade, a white expanded mesh has been opted for, feature metal-like fins that help to add texture and depth. Some windows are covered, while others are framed by the material creating distinctive square openings and playing with light and shadows.
