Approaching a site with a previously refused planning permission in Islington, UPP developed a proposal for the demolition of an existing public house with residential accommodation and the construction of two new buildings. The two new buildings comprise of a townhouse accommodating a a three-storey family home and an apartment block with three flats.

At street level, The Two Brewers Public House is reinstated alongside the incorporation of a residential entrance. The proposal by UPP reduces the scale and overall massing in comparison to the previously refused scheme. The townhouse uses the same brick material as its neighbouring building, creating a seamless transition on the street. In contrast, a cantilever on the apartment block adds visual prominence to the street scene.

The project was submitted for planning in early 2022 and is awaiting a decision.
